I? was inspired to create this illustration after seeing the effects the Covid-19 lockdown has had on the local music industry, and the response of musicians and fans alike. Music and going to gigs was (and will be again one day) a big part of my life, both personally and professionally, so I wanted to celebrate and highlight the ways we can continue to support them from the safety of our homes. If you’re able, buy some tunes and merch on Bandcamp, watch livestreams, and when the time comes, support your local independent venues!

I’m a freelance illustrator based in Belfast and I spend most of my time making colourful and distinctive illustrations — more than likely accompanied by commentary and self-reflection on social issues, music, film, or whatever else I’m interested in at the time.
