I? was inspired to create this illustration after seeing the effects the Covid-19 lockdown has had on the local music industry, and the response of musicians and fans alike. Music and going to gigs was (and will be again one day) a big part of my life, both personally and professionally, so I wanted to celebrate and highlight the ways we can continue to support them from the safety of our homes. I’m a freelance illustrator based in Belfast and I spend most of my time making colourful and distinctive illustrations — more than likely accompanied by commentary and self-reflection on social issues, music, film, or whatever else I’m interested in at the time.
