Hi I’m Lou. My illustration for this month’s cover, “Hinge”, is concerned with the issue of homelessness in Dublin, and the increasing number of people losing their homes today. The number of people whose future well-being hinges on the control and decisions of others is absurd. Something needs change.

I am a freelance, multi-discipline illustrator and designer, who is a recent graduate of the National College of Art and Design. I studied visual communications, focusing primarily on illustration. I love to draw, design, write stories and, make music. I create conceptual illustrations for editorial, products, books, screen print, and other cool things. I strive for vivid colour palettes with a bold style. Abstract shapes and eccentric patterns make me tick. You can see more of my work at www.louiserowland.com.
