Councils are reluctant to use the single-stage process because they take on more risk if something goes wrong, says Sinn Féin TD and housing spokesperson Eoin Ó Broin.
I wanted this cover illustration to showcase how creating comics can provide a lot of comfort and is a great way to process your emotions.
I started creating comics during lockdown in 2020. I was overwhelmed with fear, uncertainty, sadness and turned to the internet to provide news on the outside world. It felt like I was being bombarded with bad news everyday and everyone else was feeling the same anxiety that I was experiencing.
I turned to comics as a creative means to work through those emotions and help other people not feel so alone. I was instantly hooked on the feeling of relief they provided and the kind response it got from others online. I have since created comics that shed light on important issues close to my heart, to share personal experiences, or just to make people smile.
I invite you to create your own four-paneled comic in the grid provided. You can use words, images or both. Keep it light or get personal but most importantly have fun with it. Share your comic with us on social media, or by email or by post. We would love to see what you come up with!

“The work isn't fully satisfying. There's a kind of contingent element, or an element that you know is only going to exist in a certain way at a certain time.”
