We’re Hiring!

We’re looking for a full-time city reporter to join our team based in Kilmainham, dedicated to original quality coverage of the city.

We’re a small newsroom so we’re looking for somebody who wants to turn their hand to all kinds of stories: nuanced profiles, solutions-focused features, council meetings, and watchdog coverage. Love data? We’re into that too.

We’re looking for somebody curious, open-minded, and conscientious. Somebody also willing to chip in with organising events, or delivering newspapers around the city when needed.

You’ll be expected to report and write at least three original stories a week, which we’ll publish in our online edition and monthly print newspaper. We prefer not to assign stories, so a big part of the job is coming up with things to write about, developing contacts across the city, and learning to parse the news from the noise.

You’ll be expected to go beyond breaking-news-style reporting, to a deeper analysis and discussion of city affairs. Keep in mind we’re a weekly, not a daily, or a minutely.

The pay for this position is €1,600 a month.
