Community assistance to the elderly and vulnerable in Ballinteer
Set up by local residents in the general Ballinteer area to offer community assistance to the elderly and vulnerable, particularly those living alone throughout the Covid-19 crisis. The group collects contact details of volunteers as well as elderly and vulnerable via their online Google Drive form, which can be found on their facebook page: Ballinteer Today. Phone calls are made daily to elderly and vulnerable residents, and the group, through donations of dry foods, carry out food-parcel deliveries in the community. Ballinteer Isolation Support also assists the community guards in Dundrum in their increased community engagement during this challenging time.
Community centre giving free food parcels in Dublin 8
From 30 March to 3 April, from 1pm to 3pm, Robert Emmet CDP will offer a free food parcel service for collection from premises on Usher Street, Dublin 8. This service is a response to Covid-19 and an effort to assist individuals and families suffering from food security issues during this difficult time. Robert Emmet CDP is delivering this service in addition to a free meal delivery service to families of school age children run in partnership with Slunchbox for the duration of school closures. The service is entirely confidential and food parcels are offered without charge.

Dedicated elderly-support helpline for Covid-19 advice
Alone, the elderly support charity are running a helpline with the Department of Health and HSE. Staff will answer queries about Covid-19 and give advice and reassurance. The support line will be open Monday to Friday, 8am to 8pm. Hours may be extended to meet the demand.

They're now looking to do the same for any small businesses in the Dublin region who have been severely hurt by having to close or a loss of business due to the pandemic.
