This cover illustrates my experience during a recent visit to Ballymount Industrial Estate. It’s one of the largest commercial zones in Ireland, on the southside of Dublin, with Tallaght to the west and Greenhills to the south.

It’s an interesting place to draw. Vast rows of construction businesses, towers of crates, busy cafes, an Asia Market, security, and a host of IT businesses make a diverse and booming employment quarter.

It also falls within the City Edge project, a massive planned redevelopment of that part of the city with tens of thousands of new homes, which made me think of the future construction, and who would get those jobs, and the low percentage of women, just 9 percent, in the construction workforce.

I am a professional illustrator from Ireland, who works with ink and brush for a personal hand -drawn touch. To find more or work together, please contact me at evakellyillustration.com.
