This month’s image is inspired by the coming of spring, which is associated with Brigid/St. Brigit, the pagan goddess and saint.

Circling Brigid’s most recognisable symbol (the cross), we can see two birds, the skylark and the linnet. These two birds have come to represent Brigid, as well as the coming of spring and a new day in both Ireland and literature.

These symbols are warmly joined by a beautiful sunset-inspired gradient, as we welcome the warmer and longer days that spring begins to bring our way.

I am a designer and illustrator who draws inspiration from the natural flora and fauna around us, as well as local tales and stories, to create artworks steeped in symbolism and storytelling.
