Print edition cover

I  created this illustration based on the effects that Covid-19 and the lockdown are having on all of us. I wanted to do something a little more uplifting though, so this illustration represents that feeling you get after seeing your friend in the park for the first time after months of video calls and voice messages. You feel that sense of calm and that everything is going to be grand.

I’m a freelance illustrator, author and comedian. I spend most of my time drawing, coming up with new ideas for projects and eating samosas. If you’d like to commission me for work you can get me at or @Aoife_Dooley on both Instagram and Twitter. (No, you cannot pay me with samosas.)

Sign up to get our free Dublin Inquirer email newsletter each Wednesday, with headlines from the week’s online edition, updates from inside the newsroom, and more. It’s a little reminder when we have a new edition out, and a way for you to stay in touch with what we’re up to.
