The link above is to a post by Noel J. Brady saying that in 1992, when it hosted the Olympics, Barcelona used cruise ships docked in the harbour to provide a needed increase in available accommodation. He suggests that Dublin might consider the same approach to tackling the housing crisis, concluding that, “While it is not an optimum solution it can provide a necessary lifeboat to get ahead of the rising tide.”
